The RS18 is a powerful subwoofer that incorporates two 18″ long excursion Neodymium drivers in a low-profile cabinet, allowing it to achieve an extended system response down to 30Hz. One of its key features is NEXO’s patent-pending RAY SUB Technology, which optimizes the positioning and phase relationships of radiating surfaces in vented enclosures. This technology ensures that the acoustic distance from the rear to front sections always increases as the frequency decreases, resulting in efficient summation of the rear and front sections across the subwoofer’s entire bandwidth. In the forward direction, there is an average gain of 5dB from the rear section, while in the rear direction, cancellation occurs.

Some of the key features of the RS18 include its low-profile design, high output, and modular scalable bass capability. It also offers a configurable directivity pattern, allowing for customization based on the specific requirements of the application. The cardioid pattern, in particular, helps reduce rear levels by minimizing rear/side wall reflections. Additionally, the RS18 is equipped with aerodynamically profiled vents that contribute to a 20dB reduction in noise and improved linearity at high sound pressure levels (SPL). Its frequency response ranges from 30Hz to 100Hz, and it has a sensitivity of 105dB.
